John O’Connor

The Friends Of Wythenshawe Park have a fantastic Ambassador in John O’Connor. The group have lead the way for others to follow in having a dedicated monthly event which is a set time, date and location for meeting.
Full and proper paperwork is produced and utilised including an Attendance Sheet, Risk Assessment, Safety Briefing and Equipment Checklist.
John O’Connor has kindly shared these documents as templates for the wider community and Wythenshawe Waste Warriors Lead Volunteers to benefit from and currently has a Co-Opted Committee position which has been fantastic for our group.
John’s and the FOWP’s partnerships with Local Authority and key Service Partners sees Wythenshawe Park’s 270 acres kept extremely clean and over 60 bins emptied on a consistent basis. The FOWP have numbered those bins and mapped them!

John is very giving with his time and talents creating a wooden stand and sourcing a vinyl map of Wythenshawe for the Wythenshawe Wide School Mapping Project, sourcing signage for our parks, pathways and green spaces and more.
Wythenshawe is extremely lucky to have such dedication and experience and we thank John immensely.
