Our Fundraising For Others

We at Wythenshawe Waste Warriors enjoying supporting our local partners and you’ll see ongoing fundraising for others from us. We have supported the likes of The Dandelion Church’s Community Garden, in their funding application and in providing labour/ers.

A huge thank you to all involved.

Yearly we also attempt to raise funds for those supporting people in our community too.

ST Ann

In 2021 we are honoured to be raising funds for St Ann’s Hospice this coming year and would love all our friends and partners to get involved. We have many ideas to fundraise and any participation is welcome.

Every penny raised will go to the charity and we will be encouraging all to litter pick by mirroring our bag count with every pound raised.

Snowdrop unit fundraising 2020

In 2020 we were proud to support The Snowdrop unit at Wythenshawe Hospital which cares for parents and families who have suffered a baby loss and aims to improve the then, current, facilities by building a 2nd dedicated bereavement room on the delivery suite which will massively improve their experience, the future mental well-being of women and families suffering loss.
There is only one room and when more than one family suffers a loss they have to deal with this amongst the rest of the delivery suite.

To fund-raise for the unit we invited all community groups and businesses to put their business or group logo on the map of their local Wythenshawe school; as part of our Mapping Project.

Our pupils, residents and other local groups would have learnt all about them and their work in our fantastic area and what Wythenshawe has to offer at the May 2020 Mapping Event, that we, unfortunately, had to cancel due to Covid-19.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to John-Paul Coe and community litter-picking group Wythenshawe Waste Warriors for supporting us over 2019-20, all while working on a Wythenshawe-wide project with local schools.
Fundraising activities across the year included a disco and a supermarket bag pack organised by 1st Wythenshawe Scouts.
Altogether the activities raised £1,471 for the Snowdrop Memorial Unit within Wythenshawe Hospital 💙
